Celebrating Easter

The Easter is here and I am sure some of you have already gone back home to celebrate with family and friends. But of course there are others (including myself) who haven’t been able to go back for Easter.
But that is really ok because we can always have a great time in our lovely Gothenburg!

Here are some ideas on how to spend Easter:
If you really want to feel like home a good tip is to look for groups of people from your home-country and check out their activities. There are many international communities in Gothenburg and it is very likely that there is one of your home -country. But even if you can’t find an official one, there are almost always these informal groups of people that might organize an Easter celebration.

Another idea is to organize something yourself! It can be a gathering at someone’s place and cooking traditional Easter food from each person’s home-country or if the weather allows an outdoor activity like a picnic at the park or the lake or just a walk around the city and a nice fika!

A good plan also can be to do a daily (or even longer) trip somewhere in the countryside. There are many places around Gothenburg that worth to visit and depending on what you would like to see and do you can always find something that suits your preferences. A suggestion is to visit Tjolöholms slott which is an old mansion located in the south part of Gothenburg. The mansion and gardens are worth to see at any time of the year and during Easter they organize many activities such as exhibitions, horse carriage rides and so on. For more information you can check the webpage: http://www.tjoloholm.se/aktuellt/pask-pa-tjoloholm/.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!
