Celebrating the first day of advent

Hallå. This weekend, friends from work got together for some traditional Swedish fun. We made a gingerbread village from scratch and lussekatter (Swedish safron buns/ Saint Lucia buns)! We designed the pieces of the houses and trees with paper and cut our shapes into the dough. I didn’t get a picture of the completed buns, but they were tasty! Everyone had fun coming up with new shapes. The smell of gingerbread and sugar really makes it feel like Christmas 😀

Aren’t you impressed by our beautiful village?? I am! I think my favorite part is the elves’ snowball fight
