Finding work in Sweden

In order to be able to cover your financial costs for your studies its always good to find some extra job while you study.

Here I would like to recommend to you a recruiting agency that works especially with recruiting students for part time or full time jobs.

Most probably if you live in Sweden you have heard about it, its called Akademic Work and this is their web page: http://www.academicwork.se/

Firstly I would recommend that you create a CV profile on their web page to be able to mach jobs with your profile, once you do this you will start getting job offers via email and then with your already created profile its very easy to apply for them.

If you study at the IT faculty you can catch them on Monday the 28th in the campus Lindholmen, Patricia building around 10h where they will have an info table and tell you more about how they work and how you can look for jobs trough them.

Good luck!

A LAN event at our university today

A  relaxed event for students to just get together, play gamestogether and socialize. Feel free to include / invite friends outside of school.
It’s fine to bring some beer, not as ok to drag vodka bottle and be wasted.

We have 3 desktops which you can borrow if your laptop is too bad to play on and you can not manage to drag along your own desktop (if you have one).

The games played will we agree on the spot. But my suspicion is that it will beStarcraft, League of Legends to a large extent. Surely even more.

We can also show movies on the projector…

We keep on as long as people are able and willing to..

We are located in Green Square, 4th floor of the house of Patricia,Lindholmen

ITU Lecture-Computers are everywhere, but can we trust them?

Date:2012-04-26
Time:17:00 – 18:30
Place:Science Roulette, Liseberg wheel, Liseberg, Korsvägen

Unfortunately given in swedish but worth visiting even if you know just a bit!

As part of this year’s science festival read my blog about it about it here, an interesting lecture is given by Magnus Algren from the department of applied it.

Lecture in Science Roulette, Liseberg wheel. Meet a scientist and learn something new in 15 minutes in a gondola!

Everyone knows what a computer is. Surfing to find information or just for entertainment, but how anonymous is it really? The newspapers write often about computerattacks. But what is a computer attack? How does it work? What is being done in research to detect attacks?

42 gondolas in the Liseberg wheel are filled with 42 scientists and 42 subjects. As a visitor, you never know who you will meet in the gondola you walk in. Go in as a question mark - leave like an exclamation mark!

Fun!Fun!Fun!!

The science festival in Gothenburg

Next week from the 25-29 april, Gothenburg is going to host the larger science festival in the north.

“The Science Festival aims to communicate science to schools and the general public in an easily accessible and stimulating way, as well as providing a meeting place for the research community. The goal is to promote a positive attitude to science and research, and to encourage higher study.

We provide a broad programme that gives researchers and experts from widely differing disciplines the opportunity to meet the public and school children in traditional and alternative settings and under varying forms.”

Here you will find the program and other information!

Don’t miss it!
