International Workers’ Day

May 1 is an official holiday in Sweden as it’s the International Workers’ Day. For us it was an excuse to enjoy the nice weather and spent the whole day at Röda Sten without our Master Thesis writing. Some of us even get sunburnt and spent the rest of the week with a bit red, but extremely happy face:)

EXHIBITION X ASAMI

Today I visited an exhibition made by Asami – an exchange student from Japan, in which she expresses her impressions from Sweden.

First, she compares the home of Swedes with the birds’ nest as Swedes are the same careful and accurate in picking the right and good materials for their apartments as birds do for their nests.

Second, Asami made some interviews with Swedish high-school girls to make their visual expression as she had already made with Japanese. Where is the major difference? Asami said:
“European girls are colorful outside, while Japanese are more colorful inside and monochrome outside”.

Finally, one of her artistic object was made in the form of a table wrapped as a present to point out three months of exchange in Gothenburg opened a completely new world for her.
